PROJECT IDEAS

The project is an experimental, prefab, red timber retreat in Zhengzhou, China, acting as a “bridge” connecting mainland to a tranquil island. The concept features a ritualistic translucent corridor and elevates the structure on stilts to minimize ecological impact, focusing on the relationship between living behavior and the surrounding wild nature. The cabin serves as a bridge, transforming the act of entering into a “bridge-like” narrative of moving from the bustling mainland to a peaceful island, featuring a translucent, ritualized passage.  As part of the “Wild Home” series, the design abandons conventional house sizes to focus on a “far from daily life” experience, prioritizing a symbiotic relationship with the environment.  The structure uses prefabricated laminated timber designed to be built in nature, often using stilts to avoid disrupting the existing topography, trees, or water levels.  A vibrant red exterior allows the building to stand out as an artistic, designed object against the lush green, natural backdrop.  This modern architecture is characterized by design features ~ ColorColor ArchitectureColor InteriorColor-ExteriorColor-FacadeForm-AngularForm-BoxPlywoodPlywood-InteriorPrefabricated HousePrefabricationResidenceResidence-CabinScheme-ContainedScheme-LinearShape-RectangleSimpleSimple ArchitectureWood ArchitectureWood-Plywood.
