02-08-2017:MODERNi: The overarching objective of the narrative to be told by the architectural concept proposal was to complementarily illustrate the danger of aid actions. The minimalist architectural figure within the plan of the building symbolises the historical continuity of the time and place. On the other hand, it reveals the drastic and overwhelming nature of the situation (sharp finial of the rear part of the building). Within its semi-glazed structure the building conceals a mystery which viewers will only discover when visiting the museum. It is the symbol of home that reminds viewers of the history of the pre-war Markowa. Not only does it refer to the time of the Shoah, but reveals its invariable form, despite the adversities of fate and history. The Museum and the adjacent land complement the functional needs of the buildings in the neighbourhood by opening itself to the public space of the remaining land plots.
