I have to be honest about the problem and try to communicate with others. In addition, I would try to understand form others what I can improve to make the situation better.
At last job, other team members and engineers did not understand site grading condtion; they designed the project and did engineering coordination without considering site grading problems. I took a leadership position to solve the problem in collaboration with construction team, site engineers, and modular engineers.
At last job, bascially the owner was a construction background and the construciton team was at the top of the chain and telling architects what to do. They decided to omitt construction documentation stage obviosly for fast money. I opposed to it. But I had no choice but to do what I was told to do.
I had to pick a standard light fixture for modular units. Intially I rejected the light fixture recommended by the construction team; and suggested a couple of other light fixtures. After spending quite some time on a series of optional light fixtures, I realized the inital light fixture recommended by the team was the best chocie. In the end, I had to circle back to the first one by the team.
I was going for PH.D at MIT and plainning to be a professor, but it did not go well. That was my first failure.
It was a mix of voluntary and involuntary decisions. The company superiors were omitting construction documentation stage to result in many technical problems which I had to solve days and nights with sometimes being scapegoated. I told them firmly they should not have skipped the necessary step to have quality control and was having hard time over chasing all the technical issues. I told thme about it multiple times. They did not like it and let me go.
I just told them to fix the current management with hurry-up and band-aid solutions. They did not like my advice and let me go.
A lot happened last couple of years. The company was having a problem and I feld being scapegoated. I was professionally exhaused. Also my mother passed away. It was emotionally exhausting. I needed to take a rest and wanted to start my own business. Last 10 years I have been working on website business on and off and wanted to complete it. It is about architectural education and information about design ideas, architectural products, table topics, etc. with making money out of google ads. Eventually I am visioning an architectural e-commerce.
“For the last 10 years of my career I’ve been an account executive for various SaaS companies, and I’ve really honed my skills when it comes to convincing organizations to make regular payments for something over the long-term. But I’ve been looking for a position in fundraising where I can use these skills to really help people and I’m highly motivated to do that with your organization”…from the Muse
I am expecting about 100K for this position. My previous salary was below that. I believe an inquiry about a previous salary is not allowed in Massachusetts.
